rebirth in the cove

In the nook of the cove on the lake,

I returned home to me.

My prodigal soul in safe keeping -

you delighted in my return.

You adorned my crown with constellations.

You fed me fish and cedars.

You clothed me in rainbows and moonbeams.

You conducted an orchestra of frogs, crickets, and owls.

You invited fireflies, hummingbirds and herron to the gala.

You prepared a bed of soft waves, rainbows, and clouds - a refuge from the journey.

You decorated my house with sunrises and sunsets - signaling: life goes on.

You showed me in every way, during those months - I am chosen. I am valued.

Welcome home.

THIS, is Ecotherapy.

I respectfully acknowledge that we work, live, and play on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Cherokee, Shawnee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Creek Nations.
I encourage you to learn about these lands via native-land.ca.
Additionally, this land has significant and traumatic connections to slavery, which cannot be excised from our history.
I practice from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens and believe that these legacies persist in spite of continued efforts towards racial justice, equity, and liberation for ALL.
